The clubs and bars of Stoke Newington will be the happening heart of London in the middle of June when the first N16 Fringe Festival kicks off! Organised in association with Stokey's own magazine - N16 - the Fringe showcases the finest musical and comedy talent around in some of North London's most exciting and intimate venues.

This major new event runs alongside the existing and well-established Stoke Newington Festival and takes place on the weekend 14 - 16 June 2002. The Fringe is an independent event which exists to promote music, comedy and general good times in a variety of bars and clubs across the area, and to contribute to the diversity and cultural buzz of Stoke Newington life.

The Fringe features the best in experimental jazz, folk, blues, traditional Irish, rock, soul and cajun - as well as spiky, topical, stand-up comedy - throughout the two days and three evenings of the weekend. The performers are a blend of Stoke Newington's own up-and-coming singer-songwriters and bands and longer-established names from outside N16, including some very special guests.

Make sure you put the N16 Fringe in your diary. We guarantee a weekend of high spirits and musical mayhem. See you there.
