Should Cannabis Be Legalised in The UK
by Tom Fry and Frankie Radice

I think that it should be decriminalised because if they totally legalised it it would end up getting taxed and be totally commercialised. They should also make sure that they do proper quality control, so there won’t be any Joe Bloggs selling ghetto weed. They should also sell it in licensed areas and you should only be able to smoke it indoors or in licensed areas. Basically it would be good to have good draw around all the time totally available, but I don’t think it would be healthy having all the country sitting around getting lean.

I think it should because it makes people feel good and if the place ends up like Amsterdam, that would be purely good for people my age and for everyone that already likes getting lean. The Government should make it cheaper than it is now as well.

No, because if it became legal it would end up just like the tobacco industry. I saw on the news the other day that £4.2 billion worth of cigarettes are smuggled each year so if they legalise cannabis Government would put a tax on it, the price would go up and there would eventually be a whole new black-market for cannabis. That means it would be much worse for the industries and for Government if they legalised It.

No, because they would blatantly put a high tax on it, so the price would rise and it will become more commonplace on the street which is not good for everyone. For people who already use the stuff it would be alright but a lot of people don’t and wouldn’t like it around everywhere. They should decriminalise it so you can smoke it in your house.

In the whole world, yeah, because it’s obviously not as lethal as alcohol is to people and personally I just don’t see what the big fuss is all about. They should just go ahead and do it because it would not do any harm to anyone. If doctors have prescribed it for multiple sclerosis and medical use then they should legalise it.

deb12.jpg (2314 bytes)Debbie, Yoakley Rd, 23, housewife
No, because if the Government legalised it, it would be everywhere and younger kids will start using it and that stuff ain’t good for kids. I definitely wouldn’t like my kids doing it. They should let people who like It do it, but keep it to themselves, like only in their house.

No, I don’t think it should be too widely available. I have a son with mental health problems and it was the only drug that made him any worse and really was not good for him. He would have been better off taking LSD. That’s why I think that if it is legalised then it would be too widely available to people whom it could effect negatively rather than most people who normally do it. I think that really It is too much of a risk to the wider population If it is legalised.

Yes definitely, because it is a lot less harmless than alcohol, which is already legal even though it destroys so many people. Really, cannabis doesn't harm anyone, not even the people doing it.
