The N16 Fringe came to an end on 17 August and a great success it was. We carried a full report in our most recent issue issue in early October. Thanks to everyone involved.

Other music events involving Stoke Newington bands during October and beyond are listed below. Please let us know about any gigs you are planning and we'll list them here, free of charge.

10 October

Le Vagabond Boogaloo Club presents a night of stompin' balkan beats and rockin' roots reggae

with live sets from:

Forty Thieves Orkestar ("A dastardly infusion of eastern melodies and sultry London beats. Forty Thieves Orkestar create a unique sound both in their recorded material and in their live shows. Their influences range from Balkan Gypsy music, Klezmer, and Belly dancing music, to Hip Hop, King Tubby style Reggae and the laid back bar grooves of Kruder and Dorfmeister. Brass, clarinet, violins, accordion, oud and percussion interweave with earthy samples, crisp beats, evocative atmospheric sounds, and studio trickery.")

and...

Love Grocer ("mighty bass-driven, mc-fronted roots n dub with kick-ass brass!")

plus our resident djs Spindrift and Nelson Dilation spinning their turbo-charged mix of twisted gypsy beats, balkan breaks and latino funk...!
