Dirty Dancing

A night of three new contemporary dance works performed offstage and up close at The Others on the 24th February.

The performances start at 7.30pm, followed by music until late.

Laugh & Cry
Choreographed by Evangelia Kolyra and performed by Samantha Agnew, Vasiliki Stasinaki and Ivey Wawn. Shifting through a series of contagious motions and emotions, Laugh & Cry reveals the stark differences between public and private personas.

No Man is an Island
Improvised performance by Gabrielle Rose exploring the unpredictable dance of perception and imagination. Pondering states of loneliness and connection, she wonders, what if this is it?

On the Edge of a Leaf

Site-specific piece devised by four piece performance collective Bartleby the Scrivener, Samantha Agnew, Vasiliki Stasinaki, Craig Selwyn Roper and Hamish MacPherson. Experiencing the unfamiliar; the creation of a world and characters that appear strange for their newness. As they try to find their way, the point of creation is shifted from the narrator, to the audience, to the creatures themselves.

The night continues until late with a live mash-up party set from DJ MASH.
