Hello, young dancers

Stoke Newington-based Movingeast is looking for young people interested in dance, and who are aged between 11 and 14 years, to apply for its free Centre for Advanced Training dancing course.

Following a series of pilot projects around the country, Movingeast has been approached by The Place, London, to introduce the work of the Centre to children in Hackney. The aim of this project is to provide young people with an opportunity to develop their potential in dance. This intensive course runs for four consecutive Sundays (28 February - 21 March 2010) and will offer participants high quality tuition at no cost to the successful applicant. They will engage in classes and creative workshops, culminating in a performance/sharing. Over the next few weeks, free workshops have been offered to selected schools in Hackney to allow as many young people as possible to gain access to dance and to learn more about the Centre for Advance Training.

Movingeast has been chosen to be a Satellite Centre for Advanced Training, part of a network of national pre-vocational dance programmes funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Music and Dance Scheme and sponsored by The Place, London, home to the internationally renowned London Contemporary Dance School.

Auditions will be held at Movingeast, St Mathias Church Hall, Wordsworth Road, Stoke Newington N16 8DD on Sunday 14 February, time tbc. To apply, contact either Michelle or Paul on 020 7503 3101 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
